Really app
Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Yuval Chen, an individual developer based in Israel ("we", "us" or "our"), who provides the Really mobile app and related services (together, "Really"). By creating an account or using Really, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information. If you don't agree, please don't use Really.
The short version
- You must be 18 or older.
- Be respectful, be yourself, protect your privacy and report problems.
- We don't tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. Report or block anyone who bothers you; we review reports within 24 hours.
- We don't run background checks. Be careful when you meet people in person.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in the App Store or Google Play.
- Israeli law applies, but you keep the consumer rights your local law gives you.
1. Who can use Really
To use Really, you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- be able to enter into a binding agreement;
- not be barred from using Really by any law that applies to you;
- not have been convicted of a sexual or violent crime, and not be required to register as a sex offender;
- not have been banned from Really before;
- have only one account.
2. Your account
- Use true information: your real first name and date of birth, and a recent photo of yourself in which your face is clearly visible.
- Keep your phone and the Apple or Google account you sign in with secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- Tell us right away at support@real-y.io if you think someone else is using your account.
- Your account is personal. Don't share, sell or transfer it.
3. Likes, matches and messages
- Really shows you people in your city who are 18 or older and whose preferences match yours. You can also browse other cities.
- You can like people. When two people like each other, it's a match.
- You can send one message to anyone you can see in the app. You can send more once they reply.
- Free accounts have weekly limits on how many people you can see, how many likes you can send and how many new chats you can start. The limits reset every Sunday at midnight, Israel time, and the app shows how much you have left. People who liked you, matched with you or chat with you don't count toward them. Really+ removes the weekly limits.
- To prevent spam, we may also limit how many likes or messages anyone can send in a day.
- In app versions before 2.0, you meet people by checking in at places instead.
4. Community rules
When you sign up, you agree to our house rules:
- Respect others. Treat all users with kindness and respect. No harassment or discrimination.
- Authenticity matters. Use real information in your profile. No impersonation or catfishing.
- Privacy matters. Protect your personal information: don't share contact details in the app.
- Report concerns. Report suspicious behavior and anything that breaks these rules.
You also must not:
- harass, bully, stalk, threaten, intimidate or abuse anyone, or use Really, including information about where other users are or when they're active, to follow or track down anyone, in the app or in real life;
- post or send content that is hateful or discriminatory, for example about race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation;
- post or send nudity or sexually explicit content, or violent or graphic content;
- post, send or ask for child sexual abuse material (CSAM), anything that sexually exploits or sexualizes minors, or photos of children (see our Child Safety Standards);
- offer, ask for or advertise sex for money, escort services or any other paid services;
- scam or defraud anyone, or ask people for money, gifts or financial information;
- advertise or promote products, services, other apps or social media accounts, or send spam;
- impersonate anyone or lie about your age or identity;
- share other people's private information or photos without their consent;
- post content that infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- break the law, or encourage anyone else to;
- use bots, scripts or other automated means to access Really, create accounts, or copy ("scrape") profiles or data;
- interfere with Really or try to get around its security or restrictions (such as blocks or the age limit), or try to access accounts or data that aren't yours.
5. Zero tolerance: reporting and blocking
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.
- Report: tap Report on a person's profile card (app version 2.0 and later), or in a chat, open the menu and choose Report user. You can also report anything to us through Profile → Help Center or by email at support@real-y.io.
- Block: tap Block on a person's profile card (app version 2.0 and later), or in a chat, open the menu and choose Unmatch. You're blocked from each other, so you can't see or message each other again, and any chat between you is deleted. Reporting someone does the same.
- What we do: we review reports within 24 hours. If content or behavior breaks these Terms, we remove the content and may suspend or permanently ban the user who posted it. We may report illegal content to the police or other authorities, and we always report child sexual abuse and exploitation (see our Child Safety Standards).
- If we act on your account or content, we'll tell you why, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. If you think we made a mistake, email support@real-y.io and we'll review it again.
The app automatically checks that profile photos show one face, and we may review profiles and photos to prevent abuse. We can't review everything users post, so please report anything that breaks these rules.
6. Meeting people safely
Really helps you meet people near you, in real life. Please be careful:
- We don't run criminal background checks or verify users' identity, age or other details. People may not be who they say they are.
- Get to know someone in the app before you meet.
- Meet in a public place, tell a friend or family member where you're going and with whom, and arrange your own transport.
- Stay in control: watch your drink and your belongings, and know your limits.
- Never send money, gifts or financial information to someone you met on Really.
- Be careful with personal details such as your home address, workplace or daily routine.
- Other users can see the city you're in and whether you've been active recently, never your exact location. In app versions before 2.0, people at a place can see that you're checked in there, so check out when you leave.
- Trust your instincts. If you feel unsafe, leave and report the person to us. In an emergency, call the police (100 in Israel) or your local emergency number.
You're responsible for your interactions with other users, in the app and in person. To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for how other users behave.
7. Your content
Your content is yours. "Your content" means your profile information, photo and messages.
By posting it on Really, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display and transmit it, only as needed to run, improve and protect Really (for example, to show your profile to other users and deliver your messages). The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we keep as described in our Privacy Policy.
You're responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the right to post it and that it doesn't break these Terms or anyone's rights. We may remove any content that breaks these Terms or the law. We're not responsible for content posted by other users.
8. Subscriptions and payments
Really is free to use, with weekly limits (see section 3). Really+ is an optional paid subscription that removes the weekly limits and shows you who likes you. If you buy it:
- Payment: the price and billing period are shown in the app before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Automatic renewal: your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancelling: manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings (iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). See Apple's guide and Google's guide. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the paid features until the end of the current period. Deleting the app or your Really account doesn't cancel your subscription.
- Free trials: if we offer a free trial, it becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds: Apple and Google handle payments, so refund requests go to them under their policies (Apple, Google Play). We can't issue refunds ourselves.
- Price and feature changes: we may change subscription features or prices. A new price applies from your next renewal, after the notice the App Store or Google Play requires.
- Your consumer rights: nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under consumer protection laws that apply to you, including Israel's Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981.
9. Your license to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Really app on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, under these Terms. If you got the app from the Apple App Store, section 18 also applies.
You may not copy, modify or create works based on the app; reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows it; rent, sell or sublicense the app; or remove any copyright or other notices from it.
10. Our rights
Really, including the app, its design, name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms don't give you any rights in it, except the license in section 9. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
11. Third-party services and places
Really works with services run by others, such as Apple and Google sign-in, maps, push notifications and the app stores. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them.
In app versions before 2.0, the places in the app are independent businesses. We're not responsible for them, their premises or what happens there.
12. Ending your use of Really
You can stop using Really at any time. To delete your account, go to Profile → Leave → Delete Account in the app, or email support@real-y.io.
We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we reasonably believe it's needed to protect other users, us or the public. Where appropriate, we'll tell you why (see section 5). If we close your account for breaking these Terms, you won't get a refund for any remaining subscription period, unless the law requires one. Remember to cancel your subscription in the App Store or Google Play.
We may change, suspend or stop Really, or any feature of it, at any time. If we stop Really entirely, we'll try to tell you in advance.
Sections 7 (for the copies described there), 10 and 13 to 19 continue to apply after these Terms end.
13. Disclaimers
We provide Really "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties, express or implied, including that Really will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that it will be available in your area, or that you'll meet anyone.
We don't screen users, verify their identity or check their background, and we don't guarantee how any user behaves, in the app or in person.
Some laws don't allow these disclaimers. If those laws apply to you, some of the above may not apply.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill;
- we aren't liable for the conduct of other users or third parties, in the app or offline;
- our total liability for all claims related to Really is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Really in the 12 months before the claim and USD 100 (or the equivalent in your local currency).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional misconduct.
15. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to compensate us for claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your breach of these Terms, your content, or your conduct toward other users.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about these Terms or Really.
If you're a consumer living outside Israel, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where those laws allow it.
Before going to court, please contact us at support@real-y.io so we can try to resolve the issue.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page with a new date. For significant changes, we'll tell you in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, unless a change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you keep using Really after the changes take effect, the new Terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using Really and delete your account.
18. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded Really from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) applies to the app together with these Terms.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for maintenance and support of the app. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any). To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you're not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo or that the US Government has designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you're not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app (for example, your mobile carrier's).
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Questions, complaints or claims about the app should be sent to us (see section 20).
19. General
- These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any terms shown to you for a specific feature or purchase, are the whole agreement between you and us about Really.
- If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we don't enforce a right, we don't give it up.
- You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a company we set up or to a buyer of Really, as long as your rights under these Terms aren't reduced.
- We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
20. Contact and support
For questions, support, complaints or legal notices, email support@real-y.io, or use Profile → Help Center in the app. Really is provided by Yuval Chen, an individual developer based in Israel.
